Genre: Action, Thriller
Both posters use the main character in the image and include the title of the film, as well the names of main actors/actresses. The one on the right links to genre as the photo shows an action shot of the character. The one on the left links to the genre as it creates thrill by the use of dark colours and the shadow on the image making it mysterious. They use the same colour scheme in both posters of red, white and dark blues and black. They also both have taglines however they are different which is unusual, but both link to storyline to create excitement for fans of film (right: revenge is a dangerous business, left: they hired him, they betrayed him, they’ll pay). The background in the right picture shows a city setting, where as the one on the left shows the city skyline along the edge of the poster, however both show that the setting of the film is in the city but in different ways to make them more interesting to the audience. The title in the top poster has the target rings from a gun used which link to the genre of action and the gun prop in the main characters hand also it links to thriller as he is hanging from a building and has the audience in suspect as he could fall however in the left poster there isn't any use of props or the positioning of the character to link to the genre so therefore in my opinion I find the right poster to be a better poster to promote the film as a whole.
