Trailer Analysis - Suicide Squad

The way it is edited together works with the beat of the music making the trailer flow smoothly. The music used is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, which links to themes in film such as killing someone, being evil and the song is known for having many different sections however it works as a whole which can link to the film as it is many different personalities however when put together could create the best team. The scenes shown in the trailer help to excite the fans and give then an idea of what the film will be about, however it doesn't give away too much about the films storyline so people want to find out what happens and see how the characters develop throughout. Also from the trailer you get a glimpse of some of the settings of the film, like in the first shot you see the prison and also the cells that the characters are in.
At the start you can hear the voice of a character from the film explaining what is wrong with each of the main characters therefore will be good to become the 'Suicide Squad' and as he speaks about each character it shows a scene where the character is shown. Also there is small bits of dialogue from characters to give you a bit more of their personalities.
The target audience of the film is fans of superhero and action films, which are clearly shown in the trailer by music, editing and costume. Also the characters from this film are existing baddies from other films or comic books therefore the fans of these characters from past films/comics will want to watch this to see how their character has been developed. However even though theses characters exist already they have all been given a more modern look without getting rid of each ones style and personality.
The names of the actors/actresses, director, producer etc are given at the end of the trailer like in films, so the viewers can focus on the imagery and find out that information at the end after watching the trailer.
